Daniella is a really interesting girl who came to America from Peru to pursue a career in scientific research. She works on identifying and studying brown dwarf binary systems to help understand their formation. Join the discussion as we talk about stars and planets and all that cool space stuff! Thanks for listening!

Episode 01 — The Physics of Heart Cells With David Vidmar

In the first episode of Casual Science, I speak with David Vidmar, a researcher at UCSD who is working on the physics of Cardiac Arrhythmia. David recently found that “spiral waves” which wash over the heart could be the culprit that causes a chaotic heart beat in many patients that suffer from the disorder. Dave is a really smart and funny guy, and he’s a great sport, I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to Casual Science

Hi there! Bobak here, and welcome to the blog that will accompany the Casual Science podcast!

This podcast is all about bringing cutting edge research to you guys “straight from the horse’s mouth” in a conversational and easy to listen to format. Each episode will feature a different researcher, I will try to get them talking about who they are and how they got into their field so that we keep things human, and, obviously, we will nerd out about some frontier of human knowledge.

Thanks for listening, and stay tuned for more!
